Lemon pen device IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Lemon in San José: 11 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Lemon pen device here
Lemon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.89 per 10 ml.
Lemon in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: lemon in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a lemon pen device really costs in San José
A lemon pen device from the pre-order options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.89 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested lemon in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a lemon bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.89 per 10 ml.
- Mixing lemon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for lemon in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does lemon in a pen device last?
In San José we measured 5 to 11 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does lemon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the lemon blend itself harsh.
