Lemon pen device IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Lemon in San José: 8 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A lemon pen device from the best options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.57 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Lemon pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 8 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a lemon pen device really costs in San José
We run lemon the same way in San José: same pen device, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested lemon in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Mixing lemon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡28 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.57 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should lemon start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
How long does lemon in a pen device last?
In San José we measured 8 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does lemon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the lemon blend itself harsh.
