Lemon box mod IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Lemon in San José: 13 units tested over 4 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Lemon in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Lemon prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.81 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 13 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a lemon box mod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested lemon in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where lemon goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡37 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.81 per 10 ml.
- Mixing lemon with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for lemon in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Why does lemon taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the lemon blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should lemon start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On lemon the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.81 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
