Iced squonk mod IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Iced in San José: 24 units tested over 3 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good squonk mod from a repack
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Iced in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Below is the run we did for this search: 24 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a iced squonk mod really costs in San José
Iced squonk mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested iced in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a iced bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every iced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where iced goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long iced in San José survives.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why iced tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Is iced legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should iced start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
How long does iced in a squonk mod last?
In San José we measured 3 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
