Iced mesh tank IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Iced in San José: 12 units tested over 5 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good mesh tank from a repack
If you are looking at iced in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
A iced mesh tank from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.66 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: iced in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a iced mesh tank really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested iced in a mesh tank
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every iced bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where iced goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Mixing iced with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why iced tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On iced the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.66 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How long does iced in a mesh tank last?
In San José we measured 5 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does iced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the iced blend itself harsh.
