Herbal squonk mod IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Herbal in San José: 18 units tested over 6 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What herbal costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Herbal sounds like one product. It is not: a squonk mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 18 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a herbal squonk mod really costs in San José
If you are looking at herbal in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested herbal in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a herbal bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡43 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.29 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On herbal the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.29 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does herbal taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the herbal blend itself harsh.
