Herbal cartomizer IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Herbal in San José: 7 units tested over 3 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long herbal tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a herbal cartomizer really costs in San José
We run herbal the same way in San José: same cartomizer, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested herbal in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every herbal bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a herbal bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡68 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.56 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for herbal in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

| Nicotine ceiling | varies | Legal retail limit in Costa Rica |
| Coil life | ~4 days | The hidden monthly cost |

| Entry kit | ₡68 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡3.56 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

Frequently asked questions
Is herbal legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does herbal taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the cartomizer units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the herbal blend itself harsh.
