Guava starter kit IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Guava in San José: 16 units tested over 8 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the guava habit
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Guava starter kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 16 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long guava tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a guava starter kit really costs in San José
We run guava the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested guava in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where guava goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
