Guava pod kit IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Guava in San José: 15 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a pod kit for guava
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The honest read on guava: 15 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 15 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a guava pod kit really costs in San José
We run guava the same way in San José: same pod kit, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested guava in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every guava bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where guava goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡31 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.45 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing guava with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for guava in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

| Entry kit | ₡31 | What a first order really pays |
| Refill cost | ₡2.45 / 10 ml | The figure that decides the habit |

On the last run in San José: about ₡2.45 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡31 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
