Guava pen device IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Guava in San José: 24 units tested over 9 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the guava habit
A guava pen device from the best options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.65 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: guava in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a guava pen device really costs in San José
Guava pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested guava in a pen device
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every guava bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a guava bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where guava goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised ₡51 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.65 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should guava start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
Why does guava taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the guava blend itself harsh.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
