Graphite vape pen IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Graphite in San José: 13 units tested over 6 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the graphite habit
We run graphite the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
We run graphite the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite vape pen really costs in San José
Graphite prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.27 per 10 ml.
How we tested graphite in a vape pen
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why graphite tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a vape pen and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long graphite in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
