Graphite pod kit IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Graphite in San José: 14 units tested over 8 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with graphite in Costa Rica
Graphite prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.38 per 10 ml.
Graphite in San José reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long graphite tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a graphite pod kit really costs in San José
Graphite in San José reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested graphite in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡34 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.38 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long graphite in San José survives.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On graphite the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.38 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Is graphite legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
