Graphite pod kit IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Graphite in San José: 14 units tested over 8 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the graphite habit
We run graphite the same way in San José: same pod kit, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: graphite in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a graphite pod kit really costs in San José
Graphite sounds like one product. It is not: a pod kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested graphite in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long graphite in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On graphite the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.33 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does graphite taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the graphite blend itself harsh.
