Grapey starter kit IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Grapey in San José: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a starter kit for grapey
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
We run grapey the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 6 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a grapey starter kit really costs in San José
A grapey starter kit from the compared options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.11 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested grapey in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where grapey goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why grapey tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
