Frozen vape pen IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Frozen in San José: 21 units tested over 4 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Frozen is allowed to say
Frozen vape pen reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
A frozen vape pen from the starter options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.94 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The short version: frozen in San José works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a frozen vape pen really costs in San José
The honest read on frozen: 21 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested frozen in a vape pen
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for vape pen in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest vape pen available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.94 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is frozen legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should frozen start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
Why does frozen taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the frozen blend itself harsh.
