Frozen sub-ohm kit IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Frozen in San José: 13 units tested over 3 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with frozen in Costa Rica
The honest read on frozen: 13 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you are looking at frozen in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the sub-ohm kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the sub-ohm kit you buy decides how long frozen tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a frozen sub-ohm kit really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested frozen in a sub-ohm kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the sub-ohm kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a sub-ohm kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long frozen in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does frozen in a sub-ohm kit last?
In San José we measured 3 to 13 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does frozen taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the frozen blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should frozen start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a sub-ohm kit.
