Frozen squonk mod IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Frozen in San José: 20 units tested over 2 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
A frozen squonk mod from the cheapest options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.46 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.46 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 20 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a frozen squonk mod really costs in San José
We run frozen the same way in San José: same squonk mod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested frozen in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
