Frozen RDA IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Frozen in San José: 7 units tested over 2 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
The honest read on frozen: 7 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: frozen in San José works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a frozen RDA really costs in San José
Frozen sounds like one product. It is not: a RDA running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested frozen in a RDA
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a frozen bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest RDA available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.8 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On frozen the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.8 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How long does frozen in a RDA last?
In San José we measured 2 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
