Frozen prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Frozen in San José: 20 units tested over 3 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Frozen in a prefilled pod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Frozen prefilled pod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long frozen tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a frozen prefilled pod really costs in San José
If you are looking at frozen in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested frozen in a prefilled pod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long frozen in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does frozen taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the prefilled pod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the frozen blend itself harsh.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On frozen the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.0 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
