Frozen cartomizer IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Frozen in San José: 23 units tested over 2 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with frozen in Costa Rica
If you are looking at frozen in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the cartomizer you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Frozen in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long frozen tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a frozen cartomizer really costs in San José
If you are looking at frozen in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the cartomizer you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested frozen in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why frozen tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On frozen the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.19 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How long does frozen in a cartomizer last?
In San José we measured 2 to 23 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
