Frozen box mod IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Frozen in San José: 16 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a box mod for frozen
Frozen sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
We run frozen the same way in San José: same box mod, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long frozen tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a frozen box mod really costs in San José
Frozen prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.5 per 10 ml.
How we tested frozen in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every frozen bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a box mod arrives sealed but wrong.
Where frozen goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long frozen in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does frozen taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the frozen blend itself harsh.
