Fig pen device IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Fig in San José: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What fig costs in San José
Fig in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Fig sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The short version: fig in San José works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a fig pen device really costs in San José
Fig sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested fig in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where fig goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised ₡32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.05 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
