Fig pen device IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Fig in San José: 21 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What fig costs in San José
If you are looking at fig in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The honest read on fig: 21 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long fig tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a fig pen device really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested fig in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where fig goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why fig tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does fig in a pen device last?
In San José we measured 7 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.92 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡52 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does fig taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the fig blend itself harsh.
