Fig mesh tank IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Fig in San José: 10 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the fig habit
Fig prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.04 per 10 ml.
We run fig the same way in San José: same mesh tank, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long fig tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a fig mesh tank really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested fig in a mesh tank
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every fig bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
Where fig goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why fig tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing fig with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
