Fig box mod IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Fig in San José: 10 units tested over 5 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a box mod for fig
Fig prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.81 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at fig in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: fig in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a fig box mod really costs in San José
A fig box mod from the value options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.81 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested fig in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a fig bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where fig goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised ₡64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.81 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
Is fig legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should fig start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
Why does fig taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the box mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the fig blend itself harsh.
