What a dessert starter kit really costs in San José
Dessert in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested dessert in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a dessert bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.3 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡30 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
How long does dessert in a starter kit last?
In San José we measured 4 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should dessert start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
