Dessert starter kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Dessert in San José: 21 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Dessert is allowed to say
Dessert sounds like one product. It is not: a starter kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
A dessert starter kit from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.77 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 21 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a dessert starter kit really costs in San José
Dessert in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested dessert in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every dessert bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡44 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.77 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long dessert in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
