Dessert refill pack IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Dessert in San José: 10 units tested over 5 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good refill pack from a repack
A dessert refill pack from the online options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.74 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Dessert sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The short version: dessert in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert refill pack really costs in San José
We run dessert the same way in San José: same refill pack, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested dessert in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every dessert bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Treating the advertised ₡43 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.74 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for dessert in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should dessert start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
How long does dessert in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 5 to 10 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is dessert legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
