Dessert 100 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Dessert in San José: 15 units tested over 8 weeks, 100 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the dessert habit
Dessert prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.22 per 10 ml.
The honest read on dessert: 15 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: dessert in San José works if the 100 ml bottle, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert 100 ml bottle really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested dessert in a 100 ml bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a dessert bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a 100 ml bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Mixing dessert with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why dessert tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Frequently asked questions
Why does dessert taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 100 ml bottle units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the dessert blend itself harsh.
How much does a 100 ml bottle cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.22 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡53 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On dessert the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.22 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
