Cream refill pack IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Cream in San José: 17 units tested over 6 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good refill pack from a repack
The honest read on cream: 17 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
A cream refill pack from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.43 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long cream tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a cream refill pack really costs in San José
Cream in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested cream in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every cream bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where cream goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised ₡45 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.43 per 10 ml.
- Mixing cream with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for cream in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Why does cream taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the cream blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should cream start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.43 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡45 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
