Cream in San José: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a refill pack for cream
The honest read on cream: 8 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Cream prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.16 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long cream tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested cream in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where cream goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for cream in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How long does cream in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 4 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On cream the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.16 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does cream taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the cream blend itself harsh.
