Cola sub-ohm kit IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Cola in San José: 18 units tested over 2 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the cola habit
Cola prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.66 per 10 ml.
A cola sub-ohm kit from the online options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.66 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the sub-ohm kit you buy decides how long cola tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a cola sub-ohm kit really costs in San José
The honest read on cola: 18 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested cola in a sub-ohm kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the sub-ohm kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a sub-ohm kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a cola bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the sub-ohm kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where cola goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a sub-ohm kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does cola in a sub-ohm kit last?
In San José we measured 2 to 18 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does cola taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the cola blend itself harsh.
