Cola starter kit IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Cola in San José: 19 units tested over 6 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the cola habit
The honest read on cola: 19 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
We run cola the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 19 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cola starter kit really costs in San José
A cola starter kit from the reviewed options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.68 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested cola in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a cola bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where cola goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
