Cola pod kit IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Cola in San José: 21 units tested over 6 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good pod kit from a repack
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Below is the run we did for this search: 21 units, pod kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cola pod kit really costs in San José
The honest read on cola: 21 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested cola in a pod kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where cola goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long cola in San José survives.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡45 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.08 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should cola start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On cola the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.08 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does cola taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the cola blend itself harsh.
