Cola in San José: 12 units tested over 3 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Cola mesh tank here
If you are looking at cola in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, mesh tank, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cola mesh tank really costs in San José
Cola in San José reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the best ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested cola in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where cola goes wrong
- Mixing cola with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.31 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.31 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡39 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does cola taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the cola blend itself harsh.
