Coffee starter kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Coffee in San José: 16 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Coffee starter kit here
Coffee in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
We run coffee the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: coffee in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coffee starter kit really costs in San José
A coffee starter kit from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.79 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested coffee in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a coffee bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
