Coffee mesh tank IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Coffee in San José: 19 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good mesh tank from a repack
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Coffee prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.49 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 19 units, mesh tank, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a coffee mesh tank really costs in San José
A coffee mesh tank from the value options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.49 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested coffee in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a coffee bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every coffee bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡46 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.49 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing coffee with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
