Coffee 100 ml bottle IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Coffee in San José: 7 units tested over 7 weeks, 100 ml bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a 100 ml bottle for coffee
Coffee 100 ml bottle reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 7 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Coffee sounds like one product. It is not: a 100 ml bottle running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you only read one line: the 100 ml bottle you buy decides how long coffee tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a coffee 100 ml bottle really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested coffee in a 100 ml bottle
- Pick the 100 ml bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every coffee bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the 100 ml bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 100 ml bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised ₡52 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.06 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is coffee legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On coffee the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.06 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does coffee taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 100 ml bottle units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the coffee blend itself harsh.
