Coconut starter kit IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Coconut in San José: 17 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good starter kit from a repack
If you are looking at coconut in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 17 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a coconut starter kit really costs in San José
We run coconut the same way in San José: same starter kit, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested coconut in a starter kit
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡54 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.94 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here

Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
