Coconut prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Coconut in San José: 15 units tested over 3 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What coconut costs in San José
A coconut prefilled pod from the best options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.57 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Coconut prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.57 per 10 ml.
The short version: coconut in San José works if the prefilled pod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coconut prefilled pod really costs in San José
We run coconut the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested coconut in a prefilled pod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for prefilled pod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.57 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for coconut in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
