Coconut pen device IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Coconut in San José: 21 units tested over 7 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Coconut pen device here
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Coconut in San José reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the reviewed ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long coconut tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a coconut pen device really costs in San José
Coconut in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested coconut in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a coconut bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why coconut tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for coconut in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

In San José we measured 7 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.

Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the coconut blend itself harsh.
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡1.68 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡29 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
