Coconut cartomizer IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Coconut in San José: 11 units tested over 4 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
We run coconut the same way in San José: same cartomizer, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Coconut prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.02 per 10 ml.
The short version: coconut in San José works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coconut cartomizer really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested coconut in a cartomizer
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a coconut bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡57 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.02 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why coconut tastes flat after two days.
