Coconut box mod IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Coconut in San José: 14 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
A coconut box mod from the compared options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.31 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long coconut tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a coconut box mod really costs in San José
Coconut prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.31 per 10 ml.
How we tested coconut in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 14 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡28 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.31 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for coconut in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
