Citrus vape pen IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Citrus in San José: 13 units tested over 8 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Citrus vape pen here
Citrus in a vape pen is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.38 per 10 ml.
The short version: citrus in San José works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus vape pen really costs in San José
Citrus prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.38 per 10 ml.
How we tested citrus in a vape pen
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a vape pen and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
