Citrus vape pen IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Citrus in San José: 12 units tested over 6 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the citrus habit
Citrus in a vape pen is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
We run citrus the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, vape pen, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus vape pen really costs in San José
Citrus vape pen reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested citrus in a vape pen
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a vape pen and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for citrus in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should citrus start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
