Citrus refill pack IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Citrus in San José: 20 units tested over 3 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a refill pack for citrus
Citrus in San José reaches the shelf in refill pack formats, and the value ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
We run citrus the same way in San José: same refill pack, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: citrus in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus refill pack really costs in San José
If you are looking at citrus in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested citrus in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a refill pack cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.54 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡29 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should citrus start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
