Citrus box mod IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Citrus in San José: 13 units tested over 8 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: citrus in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus box mod really costs in San José
Citrus in San José reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested citrus in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why citrus tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Packaging for citrus in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
