Caramel in San José: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, zero-nicotine bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What caramel costs in San José
Caramel zero-nicotine bottle reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 8 units and 6 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run caramel the same way in San José: same zero-nicotine bottle, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the zero-nicotine bottle you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel zero-nicotine bottle really costs in San José
The honest read on caramel: 8 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested caramel in a zero-nicotine bottle
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for zero-nicotine bottle in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the zero-nicotine bottle, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a zero-nicotine bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a zero-nicotine bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a zero-nicotine bottle cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.49 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡31 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the zero-nicotine bottle units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
