Caramel RDA IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Caramel in San José: 16 units tested over 3 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with caramel in Costa Rica
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
A caramel RDA from the discounted options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.95 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel RDA really costs in San José
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.95 per 10 ml.
How we tested caramel in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a RDA that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
