Caramel box mod IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Caramel in San José: 6 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with caramel in Costa Rica
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The honest read on caramel: 6 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the box mod you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel box mod really costs in San José
If you are looking at caramel in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested caramel in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡50 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.63 per 10 ml.
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
